Just changed my plugs and leads and have noticed a lot of oil in the plug wells.

What would cause this?

leaky rocker cover gasket, nip the bolts up, chances are they are loose.

They can be like this without any trouble though as well can't they? Mate's had his gasket changed and it still gets mucky.

they will eventually cause missfires.

Problem is peopel don;t torque the cover in the right order so the gasket doesn't have the correct crush on it.

ok, have knipped the bolts up a bit and cleaned the oil off.

I'll take it out for a spin and see if it made any differance.

seems to have done the job!! Very Happy

I did however have a shed load of white smoke blowing out the exhaust (untill I gave it 6500rpm in 3rd and 4th to blow it out).

It smelt a bit ritch but didn't seem to be burning any oil (you'd usualy smell it if it was).

I guess it was just burning something off??

anyone got any ideas?

Give it a good thrashing. No problems on an engine that can't be solved with a good old thrashing. Very Happy
(no responsibility can be taken for anyone following this advice and blowing up their car) Wink
