wheel bearing change

i have this squeeky noise when i go roung the roundabouts for the last 2 weeks , i have been told its more likely to be a wheel bearing and i want to change it before anything goes pear shaped. its the drivers side by the way .

what i want to know is a step by step/SIMPLE guide to do this job myself ,so please if anyone done this before can he/she guide me

i have a fair idea on the job but never done it before

chris , no offence mate you are a star by all means but your way of explaining is just too heavy for me too understand .

I always thought that sqeeking wheels on roundabouts or bends was one of two things... 1 - You're driving too fast! 2 - Brake pads worn or sticking!

squeeky noise round the round abouts and sort of rumble on straight road

Hmmm - Rumbling does sound like wheel bearing on the way out then but they're not the easiest thing to do on your own. Some people can do them with the aid of a hammer but I personally prefer the use of a bearing press as they make life so much easier.

remove the hub carrier, if the hub flange will actually move you need to drift it out of the bearing. Then using a grinder remove the inner race from the bub flange then get the bearign pressed out the new one pressed in then get the hub flange pressed into the bearing
