Ok. First post on what I've done to my lovely blue valver.
Replaced the exhaust from including downpipe,de-cat and rear section. She came with a scorpion twin on the back, which of course is wonky (aren't they all!)
Complete pain in the arse to be honest. Nuts and bolts rounded all over the place and could I find half the tools I wanted.....could I bollocks!
Anyway it was all pretty sucessfull, sounded sweet sat on the drive, gave her a bootfull on the throttle and sounded great. BUT.....as soon as I drove her it became apparent that it wasn't going to be that simple. As soon as there is any sort of load she roars and vibrates like a lion on heat.
It's only the poxy rear engine mount giving up - given up.
So I might tell my boss that I'm not going to be in tommorow and get this sorted.
At least once it's done it wont need fixin for a long time......right?!? |

Not as easy as I was hoping it was going to be. Stupid feckin bolts are seized up and i can't get it done. Haven't got enough time on my hands at the moment and I need the car for the weekend so it has now become a send it to the garage job. Luckily my mate works there so I know they aint gonna rip me off but from what I can tell it's not gonna be an easy job. 3-4 hours min they rekon. SHIT!!!!! |

Tis done. Exhaust sealed proper like n enginemount done. Now she shifts like never before, or at least she's faster than when I got her. Only thing now is after further inspection it loks like the gearbox mount has gone as well . Next job on the list then, not that i can afford to do any more to her this month but that's life. |

Shit I thought he's gonna reverse right into me!
That's right some muppet almost reversed into me in the car park at work this morning. Luckily I was watching and reversed just in time!
Anyway, I decided it would be the right thing to do to beep the horn and give this guy a bit of abuse, only thing is the horn didn't beep. Strange, i thought to myself, so I held down the stalk for a few second to see if i could hear anything at all. nothing to be heard. About a second or two later though i noticed (couldn't bloody miss) smoke pouring out of the dash by the stalk . Shat myself then gained my composure and thought about it, no idea how but I would assume I've managed to pick up a short somewhere in there but can't seem to find it. Any ideas? |

Gearbox mount is much much easier to change than the rear one. You seem to be having about as much luck as me |

for smoke to come out the column thats not good, take the shroud off and have a look. If the stalks melted thats somethign if the wires are all stuck together then have fun re-wiring. |

Blimey! I think I'm gonna have a brand new 19 at the end of this week. Tommorows jobs include discs and pads all round, gearbox mount, gearbox oil and new tyres all round inc balancing.
With any luck I might even have a whole day of problem free driving, that will be a novelty.
One thing after another at the mo but I don't think there's much more on the car that i can replace. lol |

I'm an optimist at heart and I just love the valver soooo much. brill car and I've wanted one for a long time so I'm not gonna give up easily!
Anyway got the gearbox mount from renault only to find out that it was the wrong bloody one. Got the right one and changed everything over. Gotta let the new pads break in but ferk me if she aint running sweet at the mo. I'm one happy fker right now |

Now we're starting to get serious. Got a nice set of carbs off ebay the other day for next to nowt. Decent set of dellorto dhla's. Was also gonna get a set of cams off someone on ebay but for some reason he turned down my offer to sell them early for £75 and took £30 on the auction instead(Muppet). So i guess I'll be buying them new then. Will post some pics of the stuff I have as the new lifter are here too. |
