Not leaking very fast at all but its annoying me.

F7P Engine

Its coming from the rear of the engine somewhere between the exhaust manifold and sump.
It's not the sump gasket as its coming from higher up but can't see quite far enough to tell what else is there that could be the source.

Any ideas??

Hmmm - If it's coming from the back of the block i'd put my money on it being the oil pressure sender.

ere...if this is leaking, not a lot, just a little (paul daniels!) like in that pic, do u think it could effect oil pressure much...? enough to loose pressure by the time it gets to the far end of the head and cause tappets to have difficulty maintaining pressure....ie tapping a lot!

id like this to be the case, but i cant see it without a lot of loss of oil tbh

i thought as much...hmpf

why do my tappets insist on tapping? remember i had this a while ago...tried a few things, but ended up just refurbing (well!) another set of tappets and swapping them in..

it was silent for a fewmonths, but it has crept back again to 10-15 mins til the car is fully warm to stop tapping....

doin my skull in...surely they cant be dirty again already...that what made me think maybe there is a drop in pressure up by the head...or a blocked oilway i guess...

bah

as long as its a decent filter you shoudl be fine and not have to worry about drain back.

As for oil go to the factors and see if they have Comma Lite 10W40. I use it and the tappets are nice and quiet.
