can any1 tell me the tell tale signs of the rear engine mount on the valver bein on its way out?? |

engine banging against the bulkhead when you rev it, gearstick all over the place when you put your foot down. |

hmmm...would there be any knocking/banging when turning at low speeds,3point turn etc or even when jus turning the steering..maybe because of the weight? |

one could even stretch to suspension parts |

Open the hood whilst engine running and look at the mount. With a flashlight you can just about see it. Pull the throttle cable and see how it looks. If you see the engine support thingy near to the back/bottom of the rearmount its already f*cked. |

hes got a clio Xvisor, its a dogbone mount on those, not like the 19's donut thing. |

if its a clio then it will not bang the bulkhead. However on heavy high speed brakign it might catch the slam panel. |

sorry guys its not a clio...its a 19 16v..agreen1 iv had all rods,and rack checkd theyre fine!!?? |

well the mounts collapsed it will be rattling off the rack when you give it some, also there will be a clonk as you let off the throttle as it swings forward |

yup all the symptoms uv jst mentioned chris...plus the clonk is there wen goin over SOME bumps and when say i pull out at low speeds. will that clonk stil be down to th rear mount???iv jus recently had both fronts replaced. |

well might as well replace th rear one. Either do it yourself or get them to agree to a price before they do it as a 3 hour labour charge is not what you want. |

mount gen ren want 40 quid for it, you can get cheaper ones if you shop around.
As for labour, well sometimes they go in fine other times it takes hours. |

another quick one for ya guys...if the rear mount is feckerd itake it will be somehow be interfering with the steering?...will this result in getting a creeking noise when turning the sterring??! |

Not realy, sometimes the engine can damage the metal power steering pipes behind the engine. but most of the time they are fine.
