after taking the vent off the bonnet ,i ended up with this , as you can see the threads are ferked on top . how on earth can i stick this back on the bonnet now .any good ideas ??

buy another vent....mine came out in one bit...did u pull this apart?

i did not pull it apart ,it just slides into the other bit and sits on the rubber seal .
where can i get the vent from ? its not very likely to find one on ebay these days and the ph2 vent does not look like it will fit either Rolling Eyes

i think it will be a welding job in the end

cant you just epoxy it together, plus a small bit of fibreglass reinforcement in the inside if necessary?

i have tried the fiber glass method my good man .its just not strong enough .

yep common problem

my vent is held to the car by 1 stud, and it keeps popping up, need to silicone it back in.

Anyway the 2 bits you have seperated, 1 slides under the other then the studs att eh back hold it, I would some chemical metal yo uhold it in myself or if possible (doubt it) drill the studs out.

got that stuff today, its quite expensive 7.50 for 2 little tubes ,must do a hell of a job Very Happy

hmm my reply went missing....well i said 7.50 is expensive...even halfords do it for 5.99
