are you mad ? why would you want to stick a valver engine in the 1.8 rsi ? that car must be quite fast and most importantly much reliable than a bloody valver . my 1.8 SPI done 183k miles and its still going the balls on the other hand i have never heard many valvers with that much of milage .

well maybe but for some reason i still want more power, i might look into getting some new leads, plugs, and dizzy cap, that might make all the difference Smile

not having a go mate but ,trust me the 8v engine is a reliable one if thats what you want ,plus a valver conversion wont be easy as you will need ,valver struts ,shocks,discs etc etc . you might as well go better buy a cheap valver on ebay or something . but if you still want to go on with the conversion ,i am more than happy to buy a few bits of your MPI engine Wink

well what i was thinking of doing was to get hold of a head of a laguna and rebiuld it putting in new seals and re grind the valves, it might be worth doing considering its done 156k

cause its an 8v for a start Smile

they are less likely to be ragged by boy racers in their life times

even if something goes wrong ,you always have twice more space to work in the engine bay comparing a valver .

chepaer to insure than a valver

and as a bonus ;
they look even better than a valver once you stick valver skirts ,debadged grille,nice alloys and valver seats

my RSI came with all that, i just added some nicer alloys, and its not that roomy in the bay, with the inlet and outlet on the same side you cant get to the bolts for them Confused

i have been doing some non serious stuff in a chamade 16v for the last few weeks and its not fun comparing to my 1.8 SPI .
i.e it takes 15 mins to take the radiator bottom hose off on the valver while it takes only 2 in the SPI Laughing
