I get a whistling noise, but only when the throttle is in a certain position if that makes sense? Like if I hold the throttle in that position, it'll whistle.....and if I let off the throttle or press it down more, the whistle will stop. It's only been since I've fitted my K&N, so maybe I haven't put it on tight enough or something. Or maybe they do just whistle! Maybe there is a small person trapped in my engine bay that whistles to try and get my attention......and it's just a coincidence that it's when I accelerate hmmmmm okay now I'm just being silly. |

Yeah, that's it. Sounds like air escaping. I'm sure it's to do with my K&N. Have you got a K&N? It never used to whistle when I had the standard airbox, but since the K&N it does. No idea why though |

Yeah, it isn't that noise at all. I know what you mean about the induction suck when you're accelerating. It's not that. It's literally a whistle, like a person whistling......but only at a certain throttle position......must be when it's sucking in a certain amount of air or something. |

When I first got the car, this pipe kept coming off......
.....and I kept shoving it back in and after a few weeks it would eventually come out again, so I have now glued it in place and it hasn't come off since. But I've always thought the whistling might be from there. Some kinda air escaping through some little gap I've probably left. I dunno really |

well all of mine have made a variety of funny noises that i cant quite track down, i wouldnt worry about it if the car is performing as usual. |

I have put mine in a garage before cuz of weird noises it was making and they basically told me to stop being so paranoid and get on with it, and the car's fine lol. But like Neal said, if it's performing normally (which it seems to be!) then it kinda must be okay. I admit I don't like noises tho. They worry me |

yeah, ive got that too, it always rattles against something. Stop it rattling against one thing, and it will rattle against something else.
Glad im not the only one.
Best i have found is just duct tape a bit of inner tube around the pipe where it touches. |

reminds me of a time yrs ago when i was young, my sister had bought one of them things u bung in the end of a tailpipe to make the car whistle when it drives...we were out somewhere with my dad, she sneakily stuck it in the tailpipe to play a joke on my dad....we drove off waiting for the noise but it didnt happen, we realised it had fallen out and my sister started to cry so my dad had to go back, find the thing on the road and stick back in just to make her happy..
