well i was going to buy a spare engine thats mint but its an old model, same engine but old carburettor version and i have the RSI MPI version so the head will not have the sensores and may be other things
what do you think

yes but can i swap the manifolds over and all the sensors, i want to keep it as an MPI

yes thats what he meant , all you got to do is to add the inlet manifold me thinks .
also the sensors should be the same and you might as well buy and stick brand new ones in to the head while yuo are doing this |

correct me if im wrong but were would the feul rail sit on a 1988 engine, it carb so will there be a place for the injectors 
also it does not have room for a knock sensor  |

it does have the hole for the knock sensor and the injectors are in the manifold the engine is the same. |
