Right, ok... so im just about ready to remove the engine out of my ph1 19 16v, but its stuck on something, ive got the hoist on it, d/c everything i can see, but when i lift, it tils back toward the battery compartment.any ideas why?
what have i missed?

Doh! That'd be my guess to... that or either the gear linkage/Exhaust manifold! |

Even if you have taken out the bolt through the rear engine mount, the black bracket will still get caught under the bottom lip of the shell unless you manoever it past. Something to watch for... |

ive taken off the black bracket its self!, gear linkage is d/c.i honestly cant see anything else! |

its best if u get a mate with you to watch all round as u lift to help shift it as it catches things... |

the engine stops moving. and hits the bulkhead, i havent managed to get the pas pump off yet, i was going to lift it slightly and take it off then, would this be it? |

aye I undo the pump and leave it connected to the lines, that way you don't need to drain the oil out of it! |

right, found out what it was, its the drivers side driveshaft tht i thought i had d/c, it will not pop out the diff, how do i get it out? ive been pulling with a lever bar against the diff housing and the CV joint, but it wont budge...tips people!! |

lol, i pulled the shaft and thought it had popped, so excuse my stupidity lol, im not normally this stupid! i did the cambelt at 16 on this so i cnat be that daft can i? |

right well its out now, also found out that the speedo drive was fuckered, and they made sure that pas pump wasnt being stolen now i can put my straight thru exhaust on, and clean the engine bay. |
