I assume the calipers off?

And you have removed the securing bolts? The torx ones that go through the disc?

If they are off get a bigger hammer. beware they can shatter aND FIGHT YOU RIGHT TILL THE END! caps arse

If your really struggling come down and I'll belt em off for ye.

Yeah, caliper and torx screws are out, im using a huge mallet and the disc is solid, i'll go back out and give it some now Twisted Evil

She failed her MOT on front discs and wiper blades,

The dicsc dont even look that bad but he said they where corroded round the edges and she has an imbalance when he put her on the machine, but whilst taking off the L/H caliper i noticed that it was tight to slide offf the disc so im thinking maybe the sliders need greasing

and as for the wipers, they where only replaced 2 months ago, nice one's with the spoilers on them lol Laughing , i even dragged him out to see how new they where, he agreed with me and took them off the failure list, chancers Wink

Cheers mate Very Happy

disc shouldn;t have failed for anything then!

the inbalance was due to the sticky slider so I wouldn't bother with the discs matey!

when you have finally got them off, before you put the new ones on, shove some copper grease on the hub, so in future they should be easier to get them off.

I remember having to do the front discs for an Ex's Orion, even with the wheel bolts out, the damn wheel was rusted onto the disc, ended up putting back in 2 wheel bolts loosely and ragging the orion round the estate banging it into curbs to loosen the bastard.

Got the damn off Twisted Evil

I can see why they shatter Shocked

Thats the 1st car iv done the discs on that they've been that solid onto the hub, even my 19's just pulled off Rolling Eyes

They want the discs changed Chris, he says that they are scored aswell, would'nt mind as much but she just had her major service at Renault at the end of Febuary and they did not pick up the discs, must admit, iv seen alot worse.

I have done a few where I have shattered the disc clean off from the bell and the bells still stuck fast to the hub then only way to get the off was to grind it!

you could have said to me mate and I would have got it mot'd for you.

Not odgy btw a decent one and I would have sorted out the braking issue.

Well thank god that job is over, on all the cars iv worked on iv never had the discs stuck on to that extreme Shocked

The drivers side was even worse, and the torx screws on the disc decided to be more of a pain, had to end up using a cold chisel on them,

and the sliders on both sides were bone dry, but all sort now Very Happy

Just took the Megane back down to get the discs and pads re-checked and get my MOT certificate, and iv had to book the car in for tomorrow as they are going to do a complete re-test of the car again ???? i dont pay again though, but iv never heard of this, i always thought they just checked the bits it failed on, he says that if the car leave's the premises they have to do a complete re-test,

iv had cars in the past and all thats ever checked was the bits it failed on ??

Does anybody know different, are they right ??

they are right.

its meant to get a full re-test

most places just check what failed.

however some do the full lot again to see what they can pick otu a fault on this time.
