the same chassis is used on the clio williams car. Its a modular chassis the MO3, you can have twin engines fwd, twin engined, twin engine 4wheel steer in theory. |

i had a cossie one of them chris....a repsol one....and i bought a impreza body to stick on as well...its still kicking round somewhere...
on my road theres a bit of a spring (water) so the road always has a coating of water...in winter it freezes into a big sheet....thats good fun to drive on (rc cars)
funny..ivebeen thinking these last few days about building a rc boat...i got a litte nitro engine knocking around and thought it would be fun to build a hull and stick it in....something i havent done before...make a nice speed boat or something...
looking ito it a bit i found out speed record for RC boats, was made by a leccy one and it went over 120mph!! pretty impressive |

I was watchign mythbusters the other night on discovery.
They were racing a toy car against a viper.
It was meant to be over a 1/4 mile but the track for the toy car was warping in the sun. So they had to cut it to 400 feet.
Anyway both cars were only goign by gravity.
The viper won over the 400 feet but the toy car won to 100 feet.
They should have got a nitro rc car and made the viper actually use its engine. Then it would have been a race!
Some are silly fast, rc cars that is. |

I used to love R/C cars! I've got a Tamiya Grasshopper II at the mo which is complete shit compared to what you guys are looking at, but it's still a quick lilttle fella. Still going strong after the 10 or 11 years I've had it, it's even had a respray lol.......
......shortly after this pic was taken I had a bit of an accident involving the base of my mates rotary washing line doh......
Split the chasis (just behind front suspension), snapped the bit that holds the rear left shock absorber on, bent the steering slightly, broke the bit that was holding the reciever in the car, lost a window pillar from the body shell and took a chunk out of the front of it, cracked part of front bumper...........legend! But a bit of superglue when I can be arsed & she'll be on the road again one day |

I used to have a couple of the grasshopper 2's.
I always found the wire spring bit thats at the front of the rear axle assembly used to break all the time. |

Ah yes, the days of Tamiya electrics!
I had a Manta Ray when i was about 15, ended up a totally different car, with all the upgrades on it
Then I moved onto Schumachers, had a Cougar 2, now that was seriously competitive car in its day! |

yeah it aint cheap for upgrades...u can go silly and replace almost every single component with some uprated/lightened/strengthened counterpart...literally spend 100s..
i had an uprated leccy motor for it...went well....then it sat around for yrs and when i resurected it once it just didnt go the same...batteries prolly knackered...bearing rusted...who knows...went back in the attic after a big BAH!
got a little nitro engine out of another car knocking around, waiting to go in something...like i said, fancy putting it in a boat, but i know i will never get round to it. |

I had a couple of those when I was about 13 they were great.
My Dad had a R/C boat once he got it caught in some reeds in a big pond and tried to get it uncaught with a stick and fell in LOL |
