right got my new engine in got it filled with fluids usual stuff, only to find the sump has a hole and the starter motor don't work, i'm well and truly pissed off all of the problems i've encountered on this project have not been down to my bad spannering but due to outside sourses Evil or Very Mad

easy enough problems to sort how big is hole in sump?

dont you have any spare? :-/

Starter, thats a bit poo, I like to test these things before fitment!

its a very slight dent in the sump but there is defo oil coming from it I'm hoping the chaps who sent me the engine will send me a new sump Rolling Eyes

oh well yep I should have tested the starter still atleast i've 3 spare ones.

tin or ally sump?

if you can;t get a nmew one stick the tin one on from your other engine.

you can get the ally one repaired. heat it with a blow torch to see if its badly cracked. It might have an 8 inch crack that you can't see until its heated.

yeah theres a chap not far from here who can weld ally for a reasonable sum so I might get him to put some baffles in at the same time.

yeah but i'm just a bit cheesed, you go to all the bother get everything sorted then find the sump has a hole ok only a small one but a hole and the bloody starter has had it like I said before would mind so much if it was my fault but these things aren't down to me and ive got to drain the sump of magnetex that 've only just put in. urrgh Rolling Eyes

sorted the starter also sorted the old engine so I think i've good a good spare now. Very Happy

still got to sort the cracked sump though got to chace that up tomorrow.

if its too much for you to have your sump welded, send it to me and i could have it welded up
