I have my 1.4 RTI R19 and with sainsburys for TPFT it's £1500.

My mate has a 1.6 escort LX and has allready written off a nova and his insurance for full comp is £1700

Whats so wrong with having a 19?

I'm 17. So is my mate. I have shopped around and that's one of the cheapest.

I am just wondering about next year when I am gonna be off my mum's insurance, which is costing me £550 a year.

get another car mate.

The 19 is ridiculously grouped at grp 8 insurance for the 1.4.

The clio rt same engine etc is a grp 4.

A saxo VTR is a group 8/9 btw!

RSI clio won;t be much dearer though is another way to lok at it!

The mrs megane, 1.6 RXE (top spec model without air con), group 6 insurance, all the toys and 1.6, not quick but its a nice car.

She got a quote for the red 19 (project Y) the crappest 1.4 engine fitted to a 19 (1.4 c type with 60bhp) still group 8, 300 quid more than the megane to insure!

Its a joke.

Its also why so many 19's etc get scrapped

old shape rover 200 gets my vote tbh!

Its gonna be the cheapest on insurance.

Have you found out how much fully comp is on the 19? there might not be anything in it, might even be cheaper fully comp.

Well I did fully comp with nowich union (who i'm with cause of mum) and it's 2k, which is crazy.

I can't find any clio RSI's that are close to where I live. I might aswell stick a 1.8 16v in mine and work more lol Smile

I had a 1.4 R19 when I was 17. Those were the days, she was lowered on 16v PH2 alloys, black leather interior, 16v alloys and skirts *dreams*

Image

Cost me £1050 on my first year aged 17 with Quoteline Direct
Cost me £510 on my second year aged 18 CIS
Cost me £410 on my third year, when I then swapped to a R19 16v - and the policy went up £90! Go figure! Norwich Union

Now insured TPFT on a Seat Cordoba 2.0 16v (Grp 16, same as the 19) for £400 Very Happy

My mates 19 - No NCB, been driving 2 years - just bought Mine & Huw's old R19 16v and insured for nearly £1000 on the button. He's with Admiral.

surly it will fit lesser spec modles to..

and thus bringing down insruance.
