My motor:
Got a few little minor things to sort still, but the engine top end is fully refurbished and with new engine mounts she runs like a dream...
Grill was cracked with a chunk missing when i got it so out came the fibreglass, and while i was at it i debadged it.
Heres the engine bay as it was when i got the car (i bought it with a blown head gasket):
note the skanky orange rusty water bottle and the skanky orange water that pissed out everywhere when the head gasket went.
And here it is now... Look! theres rust inhibiting antifreeze in that coolant, what a novel concept!
Going to make a cold air duct for the filter like jonnyboy's soon
And no, the spark plug cover isnt clipped on in either of those pics... |

the superleggeras are about 7kg per wheel and just picking them up by hand, theyre a fair bit lighter than the standard 15s |

nice car!
I absolutely love Superleggeras. a mate has a Z3 Coupe and he replaced the OE BBS sh!t with these (albeit in titan style), both 17". the Superleggeras saved about 4 or 5 kg (can't remember exactly) a corner in unsprung weight. |

Filter is similar to a pipercross, i nicked it out of my housemate's rover 220 turbo spares box. Apparently its made by 'ramair'. Makes a nice noise when i boot it anyway.
I cleaned the expansion tank using
a) a sponge scourer
b) lots of elbow grease
c) some highly caustic cleaning stuff i nicked from work |

Use costic [sp] soda, boiling water and drop a lot in... watch it don't explode out and burn you. |

Might be hard to buy because of its bomb making properties, but my local corner shop was selling tubs of it for £1.39! LMFAO |
