My mate just got the 306 GTI-6,,,,, Im planning on racing him sHas anyone raced one before?? looking at the top gear website @ the stats the 306 has better bhp but the 19 16v has better 0 to 60 times..

If thats the Peugeot 306 S16, it has has a bit more power than a 19 16S in a strait line :-, but the 19 will be easy'er to handle in the corners.
Close but if your against somebody who knows how to balance the rear end against the front Clio style, in on the brakes pop the rear around, hit the gas. It may well get away from the 19.
Thats why 19s can still do well in local rallys in France if its wet. The rest spin. |

My boss used to have a 306 rallye and his mate a 19 16v ph2. Apparently the 306 had the edge when it came to straight line speed but cornering is very much a driver skill thing as the cars are so similar. He also said that with the valver on standard pads and te 306 on sports pads the 19 still stopped quicker.
At the end of the day I think if your a better driver you'll beat him but it'll be close all the same. |
