If I take it out will it be so loud that my ears bleed or is it a slight difference? I'm running low pro's aswell.

you will deffo notice it not being there.
When I had the 1.4 I added more and it was nice and quiet, it also didn;t make it any slower, well not that I noticed anyway but it made it a lot quieter.
Why you wanna do it? To make you go faster? You will need to take all the felt out and the tar sheets as well really. |

Did you say you had a 1.4RT? And it's getting pissed on by 1.25 fiestas? Is there something wrong with it?? Would've thought the 19 would be quicker. My mum's old 1.4RT was well nippy, and my sisters 1.3 fiesta is.....not lol. know the 1.25 is better engine than the 1.3, but still |

Yes, a 1993 1.4RTI and I was totally slapped by a 1.2 nova and a 1.25 fiesta.
It's really enoying. My mates old nova was like 60 Bhp and mines meant to be 80 or summit and he still kicked my ass even if i had like a second head start. |

it can be depending of where you take it, what they do etc etc, what i'll do as i have my own crypton at home, i'll optimise the timing, check the conditions of the leads, coil, plugs, fuel mixture, get it all optimised for performance, on my friends 19 16v we managed to get the 0-60 down to 7.0, from 7.4 just by advancing the timing slightly, and uping the fuel, advance the timing to about 10 degrees for good performance and not running hot, if your doing a race, advance it, then when you've finished, take it back to 10 again, woth the timing advance it will run hotter, but you will get alot more power, if you advance it too much you will lose power, and if you 'retard' it the again it will loose power, its finding the optimum point etc. |

That sounds ace! If you are sure. I thought you'd say £200+
Right what would be done to the car for that price?

righty...i'll advance the timing slighly, check the condition of your plugs and leads etc, up your fuel, not alot, but slightly so you dont drink fuel, but get alot more power, it will run slightly hotter, but don't worry, this is normal with advanced timing, ive got a gas analyser so thats how i will up the fuel, and get descent readings so it will pass its mot still. all for £40, its probably about and hrs work in total, and then you'll have to test drive it for me, just so your happy with the results. |

how are you advancing the timing?
Moving the crank sensor or re-mapping it?
How do you up the fuel?
Remapping again?
As for the whole timing issue you really do not know how an engine works ydo you? A loose grasp is not knowledge btw. |
