I thought it was pushrod though? I thought the cam would have been a bit lower down in the cylinder than that! |

it is a pushrod, thats why the cam is below the cylinder heads, i wont explain how the push rods work, im sure you will know! |

Yes I know as much as that they push the valves open, what little bits and bobs are involved, I don't know! |

pushrodsm are in cam followers, the cam lobes push the cam followers, pushing a rocker up the top of the engine hence rocker cover  they then push down on the valves,
i found this pic, bit small but gives the idea!
