Right, this problem is confusing me by the second. I thought I'd got it mostly sussed out based on the info I've received from the good people on renaultalpine.co.uk and on this forum.
What I know, or have been led to believe is:
a) Laguna and Espace had transversely mounted gearboxes
b) The engine I have is used in a variety of Peugeot, Renault and Volvo cars (hence 'PRV')
c) Any manual gearbox from a PRV block could be mated up
Yet I'm still not totally clear on the best place to look, nor how much it's gonna cost me.
Guy who sold me the engine has the manual gearbox and linkage from his donor Citroen XM 24v V6 that he could sell me - but will this fit? And is it transverse? |

the citroen box will fit, but your gunna have driveshaft probs either way. and r u sure the 90degree vee lump is gunna fit the 19 bay? perosnally id wud have gone for the 60degree 24valve unit, narrower and pumps out tonnes more power. |
