Right, have just decided that my clutch is bolloxed and am gonna get a new one (obviously) to sort it out. Was just wonderin tho, is it worth gettin an uprated one? Or just bang a standard one back in there? Cuz it's such an arse of a job, might be worth spending more money on a better clutch so hopefully I don't have to change it again soon sorta thing? Would an uprated clutch be harder to drive with? Or just the same? |

Then why do you need an uprated clutch? |

So it might last longer than a standard one, and therefore I wouldn't need to do this pain in the arse job again as soon as if I had a standard one........like I already said  |

Just askin y'know. If I'd gone & put a standard one in, and then everyone's like "ahhh why didn't u put an uprated one in y'twat! Will last much longer and be better" then I gonna be like DOH. So just askin |

I put a GTT clutch in me last 16v thinking the same thing, was almost like an on/off switch  Could never get gear changes right after driving the TD |

 yeah when I first got the 16v I thought it was a bit 'on/off' and I thought it was buggered then, but my mate who's got a 5 GT Turbo drove it and was like "nah it's fine, just like mine" so I just got used to it then and could drive it no problem. But now it really is a twat and I think it's time for a new clutch! |

Simonds, are you sure its not your clutch cable in need of lubrication or in need of a new cable? Is the clutch actually slipping. Am no expert on this but if you want a decent clutch then maybe better just buying a genuine renault jobbie. |

well I don't think it's slipping, no. I was telling a mate that I thought it was buggered and he told me to put it in 5th goin up a hill and put my foot right to the floor and he watched the revs & speedo and said it was fine. And I could also see it was fine. So........could be cable I spoze. I have no idea! Spoze change cable first then innit, and then if that doesn't solve it, THEN I know it's the clutch |
