Right, got the engine in, plugged in etc, started her up, without water, just to make sure she ran, and theres a nasty rattling as if the fins on the alternator are hitting something, im hoping that its the water pump? and not the bottom end on its way out again.

Erm again??? Plenty of oil in i presume? I wouldn't have fired it up without and fluid in the cooling system... |

it was a 2 second thing if that, me dad said it would be fine, its just, if i put the rad nd all in, and its fucked, i have to take it all out again, yes the oil pressure is fine |

put the rad in and get some water in it, you can run it for as long as you need to be able to find the noise then. Not really the biggest task in the world to stick the hoses on is it. |

im having some difficulty with the pipes at the moment as my old engine had an oil cooler and now my new one doesnt, so its left with pipes going nowhere, so, ive gotto go down wicks 2mo and make a copper by pass pipe up. |

what you talking about? you just need a little loop of hose to go where the cooler was, dont need any copper crap made up.
Ill have that spare oil cooler off you btw |

A busted engine sitting in a shed doesnt need much cooling for the oil |
