Got back yeaterday from a great weekend.
The Ring is awesome, went round it Thursday afternoon (I was a passenger in my mates Golf Rallye) better than i ever could've imagined. Got some film and pics i've got to load up some time this week.
The GP was quite good the sound is the most impressive part.
Any way this trip took us 4.5 hours once in calais (moderate speed) which wasn't to bad, so was thinking that it would be good to do RR a trip away later in the year |

Then we can do france. |

I've got a bunch of mates who have been talking about a trip to the 'ring. I'd be well up for it!
Might need a support land rover carrying spare 16v parts to get there and back tho |

My sister is a central management bod for Direct Holidays or one of those companies, she said she might be able to get me cheap ferry crossings etc. I'll see precisely what she can do... |

Paid £170 for the 3 day GP tickets
£35 per person for weekend camping
£110 for tunnel crossing (per car)
£80 petrol for the weekend
£10 lap round ring (per car, per lap)
I spent about another £150 on food/beer and merchadise (got me and missus nice renault F1 tops!)
if we were to do a trip accross the biggest cost would be the crossing (might be able to get a better deal)
I think it would be no more than £200 tops to get there & camping for a long weekend Fri-Mon |

petrols cheaper over there so you can count that in.
But for me to get to the ferry its what about 400 miles so thats at least 40 quid on petrol going slow.
So its probably about 200 on fuel alone for me. Plus I wouldn't hang around the ring so fuel economy would drop to 10mpg or less and its a 13 mile lap... |

£80 quid loaded up with tent & 3 people! i only live 8 miles from the tunnel and fuel is about 20p a litre cheaper in belgium & germany.
I assure you chris i would've come home friday after the lap around the ring and still have been happy with what it cost, being on the ring was worth it alone, can't explain the addreniline rush from being in that place. it's like a mecca for all motor enthusiasts. |

I couldn't leave the place unless I got a lap in under 9 minutes.
I know lets all go buy diesel shitters, the smaller the better then go. |

yeah but you don't have to travel alone, share fuel and crossing cost that way. not everyone wants to drive the ring but you can have as many passengers as seats.
I would take the misses next time as she would enjoy it and it's a break (plus there are not many women or brothels about!!) |
