I need to replace the rear discs on my R16 rsi (with ABS) can anybody tell me if it is easy to pull the things off with a bearing puller, or is it reallly forced on. I had a bad experience with the front bearings, never managed to get them off. also does the new discs come with the bearings included or do iIneed to buy them seperately. |

the fronts are pressed in so you need a press.
The rears however are totally different and after you pop the circlip can tap them out quite happily.
Renault sell the discs with the bearings already fitted, other places sell them seperately. |

If the discs are the same as my Clio 16v on the rear then they are definately not easy to "tap" out! you'll need to press them out and press the new bearings in. If you've brought non o/e brakes from a different manufacturer then you'll need new bearings and possible the ABS rings as they probably wont come with them.
You can tap the ABS rings off and put them on new discs, but as i found out the hard way, its a twat and much easier to buy the renault discs from the dealer!! Not that much more expensive especially when you need toi fork out for discs, bearings, rings, etc!! when you can get them all in one from renault.
Hope this helps |
