The car has had it's MOT's and such over the last few years, when my Mum owned it, but it hasn't had a service for a couple of years.
It's my B-day (18th) tomorrow and I will get a bit of cash, so I was thinking of having it serviced.
Anything else that might need changing? dizzy/ht leads/spark plugs/timing??? It hasn't been done for atleast 2/3 years so i'm guessing the engine oil might be a bit ferked.
Cheers

a bit ferked? more than a bit fecked.
oil, oil filter, air filter, plugs, dizzy and leads and rotor arm might need changed, cambelt will also need done.
brakes probably could do with getting looked at etc |

Well the mot was a month ago and it's had new discs and pads.
I got my induction kit yesterday so that takes care of the air filter.
I really agree with you about induction over exhaust, sounds class |

Well I will ring him and find out how much it will cost.
Dont need: air filter
brakes
spark plugs (got NGK's only a month ago)
Need: oil filter/gear box oil/engine oil changes
dizzy
leads (HT?? i don't know)
rotor arm (whats that?)
Why the cambelt, doesnt that have to be done every 70 000 miles?
Correct me if i'm wrong I haven't gotta clue |

yeah leave the cambelt till 70k then I'll laugh when it snaps.
Every 3 years/40k tops tbh. If the cars never used on the motorway i.e its ragged about town then I would change it every 20k tbh. If its on the motorway for hours at a time then 50k.
ht leads, spark plug leads#
rotor arm is inside the dizzy and sends the spark down the leads from the cap. |

Sorry didn't make myself clear. it's done 102k so it must have been changed.
The cambelt I mean, but I will get him to check it |

If your not certain of when the cambelt was last done then always get it done, better £60 for a kit now than footing the cost if it snaps. Like Chris said, if it's at 102k now then it should have been done at least two times. check the cambelt to see if there's a date or a mileage mark on it. |

The car is going in on Wednesday.
Looked through the garage slips and nothing has been done really that you stated should have been.
So will write down all the things you said to have done and will get it all done.
Lucky it was my 18th and I got some cash spare |
