all this fabled RR meet requires is for someone to just say

Right RR meet is going to be at X on this date!

As said before, this is a car forum, the idea is to meet up with the cars and see each other and the cars in the flesh.
whatever happens some of us are going to have to drive more than others, that cant be helped but thats what we have cars for, to drive them!

again as discussed before, the majority of us said Scotland would be fine, those of us from the south can convoy up and meet the welsh lot on the way up.
those from the NE could cut across the pennines and also meet us on the M6, so thats the south, NE and welsh lot and any from the NW all meeting up on the M6 with a convoy past glasgow to grab Chris and the scottish lot to final convoy to the destination.

i would say Chris or one of the other scots can sort the location, maybe book a camp site for the weekend and the date should be the August Bank Holiday, we drive up on the saturday, get drunk sat night, piss about all day sunday doing whatever and that gives us the bank holiday monday to do the drive home.

For ppl like Roger who do not want to drive that distance, they can shotgun with ppl on the way up and down and share petrol costs with thier driver.
tents and sleeping bags are dead cheap so why not?

good man JB Smile
remember its the whole weekend, Saturday for drive up, Sunday to do whatever, monday to drive home.

Lets commit to this then

RR Meet is August Bank Holiday Weekend 27th, 28th & 29th Aug 2005.

Location - somewhere in scotland (if Chris or one of the other Scots can search about for a camp site or would love it to be near a deserted airfield or something lol so then we got our own private 1/4 mile strip to play with hehe

Did i miss some meets? When did you jocks come down to England for a meet? I mean in the last 2 years by the way.

As always, I am happy to go wherever, and seeing as i never have any plans further ahead than 3 days in the future, pretty much any time is fine too.

I will be moving house at some point in August however, which will predictably clash with whatever date we decide to set Rolling Eyes

im still well up for the hill walking/Ben Nevis thing.

Would rather do some kind of activity if im going to Scotland, might as well make a bit of a little holiday of it.

Not really interested in just meeting up and going to pub and drinking etc, i could do that here if i wanted. In fact if thats all people want to do, then i will opt out.

I don't drink so the pub has zero appeal to me except for a nice lunch or something!

Ben Nevis it is.

Think I might try and take a wee drive up and scope the place out.

well u know i like the mountain thing...and i am in agreeance with neal...if its just meeting in a pub carpark and getting pissed then i won't make the effort to go all that way...(not that i don't like getting pissed;))

mountains...hills...something to do, even if it is just exploring middle of nowhere...get to know ppl well walking round in the middle of nowhere.

so it needs to be somewhere car friendly too...cos im sure we don't all want to leave our cars in dodgey places all day. Somewhere that won't mind a large group of blokes (mainly i assume) as a lot of campsites refuse large groups like that.

and somewhere with guaranteed sun Cool lol....but walking round in the middle of nowhere in the rain is strangely more appealing to me Smile

i'm up for Hill Walking / Ben Nevis / exploring middle of nowhere thing too, need to walk off some of this fat i've been building up lately.

And i am in agreeance, not driving all the way there just to get drunk, a few cans round the camp fire of a night thou is fine by me.

no beer is good, but let it not be the GOAL of the meeting.

a few tinnies round a camp fire at night in the middle of nowhere is one of the best experiences ever.
