I like them, great things no use on a car you throw around though.

So yes I hate them on MY car, but on my mrs/mums/sisters car they are fine.

It gets in the way when driving it quickly.

Roadstar will not be compatable mainly cos roadstar are crap.

It all depends on the manufacturer Schakal.

Larger companies like Sony and Alpine defiantly make the adaptor however, not all manufactures cater for all vehicles types.

Your best bet is to go back to where you brought you head unit and see if they have the manufactures catalogue, or contact the manufactures direct to see if they do one.

Obviously if they don’t then you will have to get a new unit or use whatever remote they make for your head unit.

There not usually cheap though, I was quoted £90 from Halfords for my Alpine one. That was about 2 years ago so hopefully the prices have come down since then.

sony are crap thats the problem.

I have yet to see a sony head unit that has actually worked for more than a few months.

The oen that my sister bought then amber got is a prime example. If its feelign good the screen will work for 10 mins, if its in a huff it won;t work at all.

i've had my sony head unit for 3 years and wouldn't use anything else, my mate just got a stupidly priced nakamichi unit and it broke after 3 weeks!

Nakamichi is an elite hi-fi brand. My dad used to go on about his nakamichi tape deck back in the days of cassettes Rolling Eyes

They are incredibly boreing though, no 3d graphics or flashing lights and expensive for what you get. But they have a near perfect signal and outstanding quality. They do however they still have budget systems at around £200.

Personaly if I were paying silly money for a headunit I'd buy the Alpine F1 Status headunit. But at £3500 (including the computer to run it) it's a bit expensive.

You can get an adaptor for Kenwood head units too, don't get Aiwa!!! That's what I've got and even Aiwa don't do the adapter for the controls. The one thing I do like about my head unit is that it has an aux in for my MP3 player.
