Hi, im considering fitting a Laguna V6 engine into my megane coupe. Just wondering if anyone on here has any experience with this engine or conversion and i have a few questions that i have listed below:
1. What is the engine code for the Laguna V6 Engine?
2. Will my Megane 1.6 8v Gearbox fit onto a V6 Engine? Are they compatible?
3. Will the 3.0 engine fit into the engine bay of the megane coupe without extensive modification?
4. Are there any things i should know before attempting this conversion?
5. Do the Auto and Manual Gearbox driven engines differ. As in will i be better off buying a manual engine or if my megane gbox fits then there will be no prefference and the auto laguna's seem to go for cheaper.
Details of my car are:
Renault Megane Coupe Phase 1 1.6 8v Engine With a manual 5-speed gearbox.
Details of the Doner Car:
any laguna 3.0 v6 engine. Not yet purchased as i need more info before buying a doner.
Thanks for any help..
Regards Alex Astall |

lol no the 1.6 box will not go.
the bay will need a bit of attention.
its not easy at all (have you ever seen/heard of one)
Yes they differ.
It will take a couple of months to get it sorted out so its not quick or easy. |
