pre-1990 half the population of Poland drove the licensed version of this car, called Polski-Fiat. could often be seen on Autobahns with the rear engine cover halfway open to aid cooling
needless to say we wiped the floor with them in our Trabants LOL |

indeed, it was our first family car back in 1984. first car for my parents too, and they were 29 years old at that time.
anyway, it was a beige Trabant Kombi, the estate version. will scan some pics for you to laugh at it
