just out of goodness ,i wanted to give the black rt SPI a good service today even though the weather was a bit shitty out there.

changed the oil,oil filter, plugs ,dizzy cap ,rotor arm

while i was there i checked the gearbox oil level but it felt a bit low so i decided to top it up a bit as the color of the oil was quite light and was clean .
topped up using this home made gauge

quite weird the level was right a few weeks a go ,even JB checked it when i went to visit him not long ago ,today i added nearly 1 litre of gear oil in to the box and the level was right after .
so where and how is the oil being lost ???? the gearbox sump cover is covered in oil ,i need to look whats happening underneath.
also passenger side drive shaft, where it goes into the box was a tad oily ,i suppose thats another reason for the oil loss .

anyway ,was a good day really i managed to do all these in less than 2 hours .well happy Laughing

when alan brought the rt down I had a right job getting the dizzy cap off. Its in a right mess to but hes to tight to change it.

The 2 screw ducellieurs are the better dizzy's.

if you and JB checked the oil when hot then that could explain why it needed topped up.

do you mean the screws were difficult to get out ? or something else .
my dizzy cap came out really easy after cracking the screw bolts

the car was hot when JB checked the level , but when i checked it today it was not cold cold either as i warmed up for the oil change half an hour before .

anyway never had problems with changing gears so i am hoping this top up will improve the gearbox a bit or wont give any harm
