Has any one else noticed??? I've been looking at Laguna's on Ebay (quite fancy one..2.2TD ) but they seem to have a gearbox issue....they appear to fail regularly! |

2.2 TD's are slow as owt. 115bhp if memory serves and a rolling weight of over 1400kg = slow car.
If you want any sort of performance you needs to be looking at a petrol version! |

Can't afford petrol, need diesel. Gone off the 2.2TD seen the fuel consumption! Still liking the 1.9TD |

I had a 2.2 as a company car, and the gearbox broke not an uncommon thing with these probably because they are so horibly slow that the gearbox takes a hammering as the rev's need to be kept up, to get any acceleration at all.
and when I say slow I mean slow, at the same time we had in our house a 1.8rt laguna and a 1.4rt auto clio and both of those where head and shoulders above the 2.2 laguna, it was so bad we used to use our own petrol of a weekend instead of the company car. |
