Hello everyone
I am new on this forum, and I must admit it is far better than anyother on the net.
I have done research on this forum, but then I decided to open new topic for my question.
Well, I have megane coupe 1.6e(K7M) and in near future I want to swap engine to 2.0 16v (F7R).
Then I want to do some modifications to the engine.
New pistons
Con rods(if necessary)
ported and polished head (myself)
custom made intake and exaust manifold(myself)
adjustable pullys(made myself)
sport camshaft
ECU chiped or maybe megasqurt ECU
and some other small things
So my question is:
How much HP can stock pistons and con rods handle?
whic camshaft should I take to get most power and tourqe between 2500-7000RPM?
What parts do I have to take to run engine?(coded key,...)
Does F7R mounts fit directly to K7M mounts?
Are axes from 2.0 megan stronger than in 1.6 megan?
How much HP can I expect?
This are few problems that I would like to know.
p.s:Sorry for my english, I hope you`ll understand what I wanted to ask.
I am from Slovenia

the F7R from the megane uses different mounts, it uses the clio style hanging mounts.
But it can be converted to use the 1.6 style mounts.
Pistons and rods can handle 200bhp+ depending on the power delivery though.
Theres a lot to choose from camshaft wise.
If its a megane 2l then the key BIC and engine ECU. But depending ont he car it may work with the existing key with the 2l ECU
The 2l driveshafts (axles) are a bit thicker but its not that important really, the thinner ones can handle the power if driven properly.
Depends on how well you make things, if done properly 200bhp should be easy enough, if its built poorly then less than standard.
Your english is very good. |

Hi Simon,
Welcome to Retro, sounds like an interesting project.
I hope you will be sharing your progress with us along the way We do like pics here!
Have you done much engine work before? You're sounding pretty confident with the amount of work you will be taking on yourself, it would be interesting to hear about them.

Thanks for reply
About the mounts I was wondering if position is the same in 2.0 or 1.6, because I don`t know how mounts from clio looks
I will harden the rubber.
Are axes same lenght in 2.0 or I have to buy them too?
Well my friend and I are in the local club and he compets in Drag races.
He has Ford Fiesta XR2i and we did some things for his car.
Adjustable pullys, exaust manifold, nitro....
He`s best time in 1/4mile standing start is 13.98
From original 16.5 I think this is nice improvement.
Original pullys from Ford Fiesta
Water jet
Final product
AND EXAUST MANIFOLD
Begining
Little more
Some more
Final product
I hope you don`t minde because this is not renault. But something like this we will do for F7R engine. |

the driveshafts are the same length as far as I know, but if its liek the 19 then it may have both longer wishbones and driveshafts, but I don't think it does.
Yes the position of the engine is roughly the same, it might tilt back a bit more on the 1.6 mounts |

nice pics Dr. Do you fabricate the tube as well?, very neat. Do you have access to the machinery to do this work? Shame you live so far away. |

Yes I have access to the machinery.
MY friend rox with AutoCad and what my mind wants his brains do.
If I fabricate tubes.?
What are tubes? If it is from metal then we can fabricate them. |

We buy straight pipes and 90degres curves and then we make exaust or intake manifold.
But depends from engine to engine what size we use.
Material is inox. |

Driveshaft = axle (axe is used to cut wood)
Axle goes from the gearbox to the wheel it transmits the drive.
Wishbone = lower suspension arm |
