I am right in thinking that these are the enoying tapping noise?

Is it possible to stop them?

and hydraulic tappets are totally different to the energy lumps mechanical ones.

....under the bonnet really doesn't help me does it?!? Confused

I ask for advice from people who I am led to believe are mature and sensible and want to help us who have little knowledge about matters that you know lots about and this is what I get!

Cam shaft has to come out, which means cambelt has to come off.

Mine is over head cam and not a double like that.

But I asume that it will look similar. I can take that off that's not to hard.

What do I do after that?

adjust them wiith feeler gauges. You got a haynes manual? if not get one its all in there and theres pics to!

I spose I would need a new cover gasket? from Renault?

gsf do ther gaskets for less than half the price of renault. Any motor factors will do them.

If they can;t get anythgin up ask for a 1992 1.4 clio RT OHC cam cover gasket.

Ah, there is one of there shops near me.

I might pop down there later to have a look and order one.

1992 R19 1.4 OHC rocker cover gasket? it's Ej7 engine
