Hi all,
Whilst looking at my engine mounts I was getting wet (EASY TIGER!). On closer inspection it appears my coolant is leaking again here's a pic of where the drip starts. Any ideas where it may be coming from?

i agree with Huw, water pump, thats exactly where mine was leaking from a couple of weeks ago, its now got a new water pump and no leaks  |

depends,
i had no problems changing mine out, was done in less than an hour but neal had a nightmare with his due to having the gasket practicly welded on and it took him forever to remove it.
i would advise getting one of those ratchet spanners from halfords, 11mm spanner for undoing the water pump bolts, was a godsend it really was, as space is confined and using a normal socket on them is tricky. |

Cool! Gonna get the driver's wheel off tomorrow to get a closer look. The water's only dripping at the mo, but don't want it to start pissing out. So I'll get it changed ASAP! |

GSF - £20 (+VAT)
dunno where mine came from, was in a box in the boot of the car when i bought the car lol |

PS. Could the pump leaking also be the cause of my lack of heat from the heater (due to lack of pressure lost in leak)? |

Bloody typical! I jack up the car to have a closer look and it now decides, it's not going to drip. The coolant has hardly moved. LOL

the loss of heat could be if your leak is enough to mean there isnt enough water in the system. Change it anyway for the sake of £20 and an hour's swearing. |

i lost a water pump on the way to manchester not long a go ,make sure there is pressure in the water system (squeeze the pipes when the system heats up )
i.e : if your pressure cap has had it ,you would have less pressure thus the water pump will leak less |

Pressure cap was changed a couple of months ago so pressure shouldn't be a prob.
I noticed today it pisses out when I stop, but there's no leak while I'm moving (well at least not as much). I went for a drive and it pissed out when I parked, checked the expansion tank and it had dropped 2cm which was what has just leaked during my 10 minutes being parked. |

if your pressure cap is holding pressure thats even better now you can create the leak by squeezing the pipes and seeing if there is any pressure in the system ,if the pump is fecked there should not be much pressure .
a few days before my pump went ,i could literally see the pump pulley turning side ways as well rather than on a straight line if you know what i mean |
