how are you going to do a small drop ,thought those springs came either 35mm or 60mm even though i have heard of people cutting the standard springs to desire.

i dropped the front of my megane 35mm and kept the back standard height. made the handling a little ass heavy if u no wat i mean. drop the back down to match, only takes 30mins to do. makes it handle even better then. tho on standard shocks it does rebound alot over speed humps.

dropping the front 3-4 mm more than the back will have absolutly no advantage at all on the road. BUT on a track whether 1/4 mile or full race track it will make a substantial difference in the handeling all because of weight ditribution/ center of gravity. on a fwd car the ideal is to have the front lower than the back so that under hard acceleration the weight distribution/ center of gravity, will be roughly 50/50 and so the engine weight remains over the front wheels so better gripp under acceleration. BUT the down side is under braking and hard cornering, understeer will be more noticable this is where the skill in setting up suspensions is. my advise is look at height adjustable front dampers and adjustable top mounts because you will need top adjust the camber when you lower or raise the front, by adjusting the camber you can have the optimum tyre contact area for your suspension setting/ needs. hope this helps it may seem confusing but its not its common sense so before you do anything think about what you what to do and remember for ordinary every day road use standard is generally best imo. no doubt there will be a difference of opinion but my info is from experience ie trial and error.

front of mine is lowered 35mm and the back is still standard.

its a bit hard to tell how the handling on it has changed due to the fact i have a dodgy steering column but if anything i have noticed it has a tad more understeer and the backend is easier to kick out in the wet.

don't lower the megane, simon did it to his, ruined it totally.

35mm drop, handling on an already floppy car made worse.

whats that got to do with anything?

but if you want to argue about it the 19 outhandles the megane everytime.

there is a difference between handling and grip also between 15 year old knackered bushes and 5/10 year old not so knackered ones.

well my 19 had new shocks, suspension arms with bushes, arb bushes, springs, new rear shocks. the 19 was far too harsh over bumps and uneven road, it never inspires the same confidence the megane does. the megane doesnt understeer as easily as the 19 did either, can really throw it around alot more. plus the megane coupe shell is stiffer than the 19...
