I'm going camping this weekend...good bit of practise for the scotty meet!

Me and my mate are going Sat to Sun, up the Brecon Beacons.

We did this last year, so we are starting where we left off last year, and bit by bit, will work our way to north wales.

This leg is from Dan yr Ogaf to Usk Reservoir. The start is over a big ridge called Fan Hir, shown below.

than at the top of the ridge over the other side are two lakes, by which we shall set up camp hopefully.

Llyn y Fan Fawr:

and Llyn y Fan Fach:

then the next day final leg to our destination, the Usk Reservoir:

hopefully we shall make it, altho i am well unfit, havent done this for ages. but need to get in shape anyway. should be good fun....weather permitting of course.

well u r used to arctic conditions up there...yesits hot, but gotta make the most of it, as rain for the rest of the year is quite likely down here.

still, it should be cooling down by the weekend, yompin up that hill in the sun wil be hard work, so a bit of wind or cloud would be nice.

only rain will stop play...and thats only due to my mate, i'd happily still go in the rain Very Happy

Roddy, I shall look up the Penny Farthing now, as it does ring a bell. Done quite a few good walks around Brecon, I love it up there. Camped there quite a few times, once setting off from Storey Arms heading West towards Dan yr Ogaf, camping midway, and anther time starting at Pontneddfachen (dunno if you know it) which is a river valley down at the btm of the beacons, with many waterfalls.

That was great as we had to walk up along side the river until it broke out into the clear beacons, then we found a outcrop of rock in the middle of nowhere to set up...sittin on top in the night supping beer, it was DEAD silent...not often you here that.

Ill get pics!

lol, thats what I look like with 3 days growth!

I had a haircut the other night as well.

Also since the timmers were out I shaved my beard like Sr's from American Chopper, Amber thought it was hilarious! Laughing You really need white/grey beard for it!

I then shaved a bit more leaving me with a dodgy hitler moustache which was even funnier!

Wish we had got pics of it.

i wish i had had this haircut a few weeks ago in this weather....i always go thru a phase of thinkin i know ill grow my hair, but then its gets about that long and pisses me off!

that was about 1 and 1/2 weeks growth on my face...i hate being clean shaven, but that was just a bit too long....felt like i had a constantly sticky face!

lol i tend to amuse myself when shaving too, i look very odd with a moustache!

but (this may be sad) i shave my self symetrically as in ill do a bit one side, then the same the other and so on...my reasoning is that if the shaver packs up halfway thru at least i will be even both sides. Very Happy
