I put some barrs flush in yesterday as I was driving the 250 miles to my mums.(proberbly not the best idea i've had)

when I got here, the fan wouldn't turn off, so I had to disconnect the power to it. I've jusy flushed the system through and tried the fan again but it just turns on as soon as i plug it in.
I've disconnecting the temp sensor on the radiator and head but to no avail! I also disconecting some of the other sensors around the engine bay but I still can't find the source of the problem.

anyone got any ideas and a pic if pos.

I was under the impression that the radiator switch turned on the fan when it got too hot, with it disconnected no power would get to the fan??

or would it?

The wiring to that rad temp switch doesnt look too healthy, if its shorting out, then that could make the fan run permanently

i was on about the rad temp switch as well ,if the material inside the metal head is buggered it may cause permanent connection Wink

and that probably is the same rad temp switch on your other r19 ,so you can swap them and see the difference, you need a deep socket for the job mind
