Was down in Cardiff the other day and had a look around, nice city, especially the castle, it has quite some character.
Anyway, what is it about all these w's and y's and l's in the Welsh language? Is there no shorter way to spell things? Or maybe there are only 16 letters in their alphabet?

Not a serious question BTW, I have the greatest respect for other people's language and culture...

However I do think the only reason the thing exists is to piss off the English!

Here's a nice cold one I stopped for somewhere between LLangollen and Betws-y-Coed (or "Betsy the co-ed" as the locals like to call it Smile ) when driving through Wales recently.

I tell you what really pisses me off though is S4 bloody C.

it is crazy, they seem to take a sentance to say one word.

i live in wales, dont speak welsh. it bugs me that every single signpost has to have both welsh and english on it, even tho there is probably ZERO ppl in wale that wouldnt understand the english bit.

thers only about 16% fully welsh literate ppl in wales. not exactly a majority.

means nothing to me...altho my son did go to a welsh school for 2 yrs, picked up the language dead uquick when they are young and in a total welsh environment day in day out. Cracking school, welsh school are a bit like private schoolsm the education and levels of attention they get are so much higher...his class was about 10 kids as opposed to 30+ in most mainstream schools.

slightly related....to signposts lol....there was a sign post for St Helen's Rugby ground....whoever made the sign forgot the apostrophe, so it read St Helens

big deal i thought...so fucking what...but some petty cunts had to go and moan like the boring meddling twats that they are to the newspapers untl the council added the apostrophe! FFS i hate ppl like that.

I think you can blame the welsh language act from the early 90's for the road signs. I can speak welsh when I need to so it doesn't really bother me. The w's, y's and l's make a whole lot more sense when you can speek the lingo Laughing

All about it here:

Road signs up here have Gaelic on them, that pisses me off! We get more bloody Germans up here than Gaelic speakers!

Yes, that's annoying. I don't find people not using apostrophes annoying, but I do find it annoying when people use them anywhere and everywhere, putting them in every word that has an "s" at the end (plurals for example)... I actually find that really fucking irritating, but then I am a reknowned anal retentive. If you don't know what apostrophes are for, then just don't use them at all FFS!

Adding on an s to a word that doesn't have one in the first place is a different thing entirely. That's being from New Jersey.

don't drink.

As always fixing cars.

Today I have a nice long list of options.

change the tank on the red 19 (project Y) as fuels evpourating out with the heat a lot, around lunch time theres a constant haze from it.

Get a wheel bearing and fit it on the red one.

Or I could get one with the white chamade. As I'm quiet customer wise and these cars really need sorted.
