Hi guys,
Been a long time since i posted last but i've been working almost around the clock for the past few months
Anyways, when i got my Renault 19 1.8 seven months ago i hadn't owned a manual transmission car for a long time. Ok, no problems with that but then i lent it to my sister in law for a week or two and she started to ask me why the clutch pedal was so stiff to press down?
I had no idea what she was talking about because i didnt notice anything different on my Renault 19 than the VW LT35 i drive at work
Didnt feel any more difficult to press on my R19 than the VW LT...to me at least.
But now the last few days i've been driving another manual transmission passenger car and i notice how much lighter the clutch pedal is.
Pressing on my clutch pedal in the R19 is a pain in the #"!$
What can be the reason(s) for it being so difficult to press? |

the master you drive at work has the longer release arm!
Thats they way they are, if you want it lighter fit new clutch the later release fork and bracket. |

Later as in from Megane and Laguna? My R19 is made in 07/95
But i doubt i will fit a new clutch since i can live with this.
Just thought there was something that needed to be done, like adding fluid or adjusting cables.
But hey, im new a newbie |

Its because its a drivers car same as steering (wanted to put because it's a mans car but hey thats sexist, plus some girls are built like sh1t house's) If you really want to wear that blouse whilst driving then buy a Focus with a hydraulic clutch. Only joking mate. |

I occasionally drive a St Andrews Ambulance and I've never felt a clutch like it! It literally lifts me off the seat when I have to use it and then when I get back in my own car, I damn near put my foot thru the floor
I suppose it depends on how bad it is! I can't say I've noticed mine is particularly difficult. |

I actually saw a LHD Renault with a German plate yesterday and I wondered how much better the clutch would be, with the cable being so much shorter. |

Your right about a MANS car. I thought that the power steering was shagged until trying to move steering wheel without engine running!!!!
My Mrs has a Fiat Punto 52 reg. I drove it for the first time the other day. Over steering because it was so light and as for the clutch....It felt like the accellerator....LOL
Driving the 19 16 V save's me going to the gym now. Its a wicked motor, all power and loads of noise and vibration. Shit off a shovel stuff.Real Clarkson stuff....LOL
Its had a few BHP inhancing items fitted and it is a little scary when you let let it rip. Its a Cabrio 94 and I get more people talk to me about the car than I have with any motor I have owned.
Gobbles juice, exspensive to insure and needs constant TLC, but it's like a good woman, you dont mind spending the dosh. The love of a man and his car is a foolish one but hey, you only live once.
Even my Calibre driving 25 year old nephew calls me mad, he knows what these 19 16v'S can do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DOGS BOLLOX!!!!!!!!!!! |
