Some guy called Aaron owned it.

Must have been 98ish it was in revs.

ps hows the rack comng along? im eagerly awaiting the difficulty rating!

nah its just a stocker with a paint job really. Decat etc etc

Steering rack, utter bastard. Read the chamade prog report.

yeah i did...put me off....how u manage with all the pipes for the fluid etc? did u need to drain it or do u clamp it off or something?

well there was no fluid in mine at all. There was some still in the rack so worked it back and forth to drain that out.

You need to remove all the pipes on the rack or it will not actually fit. So you need to tape up the unions etc.

Engine out next time I reckon. I really need an engine hoist.

both times ive done steering racks have been with engine out. not an easy job with it out, especially with the unions stripping the soft ally threads on the rack. could jsut convert it to plain old steering...

Well my old black hatch as you know Jimbo only had a manual rack.

i have been driving the chgamade around with no ps for 1k miles, it was a bit heavy at parking speeds but nothing major.

I then moved it to the forward strut holes for manual steering and the steering got a lot lighter.

Now with PS it will be to light no doubt!

To be honest the amount of problems that PS causes really makes me ponder if its worth it..

I prefer no power steering, its not really heavy and you can feel so much more, it makes you slow down as you feel thge tyres letting go a lot more in the wet etc.
