Those resistors basicly fool the brain of your car into thinking its only just started, the fuel air mix is richer you see at start up, so if the car always thinks its just been started, u get a richer mixture which yes may give you a very very small amount of extra power, nothing like the 20bhp claimed, more like 2 - 3 bhp.
Obvious side effect of using these resistors apart from small children laughing at you and flicking boogies at you for being stupid is increased fuel consumption.
in summary, dont bother with these resistors, they are utter gash. |

ahh those chips are different, from your first post it sounded like one of those stupid resistors being offered on ebay that promise another 20bhp.
with those chips, they are replacing the one in the ECU, they have to replace it because standard ECU's are not fitted with an eprom, just a normal rom chip meaning they cant just plug in a laptop and reprogram the standard chip.
with the eprom on board they can program it as many times as they like and looks like they are putting the car onto a dyno and setting it up for your car, thats good, means the chip will work better but 17% better ?
nahhhhh thats bollocks, most you are looking to gain by adding a chip is 7 bhp if you are lucky. |
