im assuming that the intake hose on the standard air box will be diffrent to the k&n one??
if this is trhe case where can i get one from to fit the standard air box?

iv not checked it properly schacks..just that the insert on the standard box is kind of oval and the k&n one looks round. |

or go the extra mile and do a schakal trick as seen below,the picture is not so good but there is a bridge between the air intake paipe and the filter ,i have done it today to keep the filter away from heat .

Good idea schacks. You beat me to it y'bastard lol. Have you got some kinda floor panel thing missing in that pic? Is that to try and get more cold air? If I took that same pic in my engine bay, I'm sure you can't see the ground like that, there's a panel there |

the panel was missing when i bought the car and yes it does help the air cool down i suppose.
i also want to put a shield between the air filter and the rest as the hot air will still be present in the area |

right after a bit of fiddling about the standard airbox is on!!! the first thing iv actually done myself!!
Anyway sounds alot quiter and is smoother |

the plastic shield under the bumper chris ,the one that is suposed to keep crap away from your engine bay |

ph1's and non 16V's never got them, well the td's might have on the ph2's cannae mind. |

Ok, mines a Ph 2 so it’s got the plastic bit. Only problem is if you drop a nut or something down there it’s lost.
I run a Green cotton filter in the original air box, which seems to help a lot in lower down torque.
But with the A.C. the electric power steering pump takes up a lot of space so the air box is long and thin.
Anyway the A.C. is dead with some sort of an electrical relay problem which I can’t fathom.
Booked into Renault for the 15 September. Bloody A.C. only work’s in the winter. |

Mine had 2 when I got it, now it's got 1...plastic sheildy things that is!!! The other one came flying off one day as I was driving along and I couldn't be bothered stopping to look for it! |
