Hello again,
An odd problem with my Clio which I've had since I bought it.
When I start the car it idles at about 1,100rpm and then drops to about 900rpm after a short while, the weird thing is if I just quickly tap the accelerator (Like put it right down but only for a second) it revs slightly but then the revs drop right down and it nearly stalls, it only just recovers.
Also sometimes when I'm driving along and I change gear when I put my foot on the clutch the revs drop right down to idle and on a few occasions at a junction the vehicle stalls, so I have to lift my foot off the clutch to get it started again.
Not sure if this is a common problem or not, any ideas what it could be?
Many thanks. |

even though the liage works ,your speed sensor connector might be loose or not connected at all and that does cause the engine dieing especially changing gears .i experinced this lately but all cured now
this is the picture of a speeo cable with the speed sensor wires hanging on the right
not sure if another speed sensor can be just connected bycuttin the wires and soldering though
chris would be able to tell us that |

Argh, doesn't look as simple as the electric window switch - bend a bit of metal and yay, it works.
I'll wait to see what Chris says, he seems to know the answers to everything. |

road speed sensor may be the problem it may need re-e arthed.
Or the idle stepper motor has a dodgy connection/its knackered. |

Ok, I found the road speed sensor part, how do I know if it needs re-earthing and where does it get earthed? |
