If anyone knows if this can be done can you let me know where? asked around my local garage but said that needs to go to a engineering place to get it done, i dont want to get a straight swap as my engine is sound already with low milege.

Thanks.

if its the 1.2 energy engine, it will be cheaper and easier to just bolt on the 1.4 energy bottom end.

If youre bothered about milage, you could change out all the shells and rings on the 1.4 BE before putting it in and it would STILL be cheaper than boring out your 1.2

no you can't bore it out. Its a wet liner engine, you bore it out any and you'll be in the water jacket pretty quickly.

The difference between the 1.2 and 1.4 lumps is the stroke. This means its the con rods and the creankshaft which give it the extra capacity. The bores are the same on both engines.

So you need to get a 1.4 engine and use the conrods and the crank from that which is a total waste of time when you can just fit the 1.4 lump straight in.
