I'm contemplating paying over the odds for a Renault!

Spotted a Silver PH2 16v N plate. 8 previous owners.

Its done 90,000 - new cambelt/waterpump/clutch. Airbag, Bosch ABS, Leather 2x new tyres and long tax/test.

Looks immaculate but £1000 could get you a better one. He's holding out for £1000 and he just turned down an offer of £900 from me - madness on my part but certainly madness on his!

What's your opnions?

900 is too much mate, can get a cabriolet for that.

The seller may well get his 1000 from someone but tbh mate you'd have to be a mug to pay that money for it.

Agreed, thats IS cabby territory, How many 3dr valvers do you see going for 800+? Close to 0 is the answer.

does seem alot, but then if your willing to pay and in your eyes it's worth it and you could get a grands worth of smile factor then get it. people can wait to long for something they want to come along cheaper and never actually get the one they want and aren't perfectly happy. i have friends that have taken the 'cheap' route and 'made do' and never been satisfied. i paid a bit too much for my cab according to some but i think it was well worth it!

A motor is only worth what the buyer is willing to pay, if you like it and want it give an offer! If you are willing to pay £1000 it is up to you! It may be over the odds, but if it is what you want and you can afford it then go for it, if not wait and see what else comes up

£900 is already well out of my comfort zone, I can just imagine what Chris H would say about it! And it *will* go wrong, its a Renault after all and a 19 16v at that.

I offered £750 which I thought was a fair price given the fact it was silver and a bit rare. I upped it £150 'cos I thought I'd 'treat myself' but anymore then that I think is just madness.

Nice PH1 chammy on ebay for £350'd do me Smile

So whats your opnion of the silver one in my original post Neo? Be interested to know.

That £2800 one is madness - thats maybe what the car stands him at but for that price you'd expect what? 10k dry miles?
