Ok, now this is not really a tech question....

Technically speaking how good is the megane coupe 2ltr 16v ? Am I right in thinking that its a 150bhp unit similar to the 140 bhp found in the laguna?

I having owned a 1.6 energy megane in the past never found it as well put together as the 19 but hey maybe thats just me. How would the coupe 2ltr 16v compare to my 19 16v in terms of being a drivers car. I ask as I have seen a Cat D P registration one going cheap. cant find much in the way of reviews for this particular engined one. This usually means something is dull or pants.

its a normal 19/clio F series lump but with a far superior head.

The cars are not any better to drive than a 19, the 19 will out pace it point to point.

They are not as well stuck together as the 19 and dare I say it mk1 clios even.

How cheap is cheap, as they go taxed and mot'd and not smacked for less than a grand at auction, if its yellow then its even cheaper.

£400 notes. The car is pre accident mint and parts are supplied with the motor so long as you remove them from the scrap stock item yourself, pre checked and all parts are there, wing bonnet bumper and light. Trouble is its done 90k which in fairness is not too high for a 8-9 yr old car. was hoping you were going to say that they are a real drivers car superior to the 19 and rare then the opportunity would have seemed a good one.

I find the our 2016v megane is very torquey, more noticable than any of the 2 1916v iv owned (not that im saying the 1916v is slow before i offend anyone Laughing ), and all cars are and where looked after.

I once raced the girlfriend coming back from Edinbrugh, i was in my ph1 1916v and her in the megane, afterwards we compared notes and it would appear that i had to do more "changing down" the gears than she did, she could pull away from me in 5th, and if i stayed in 5th then id loose her, so i always had to change to 4rth to keep up with her, which to some people is all part of the fun, i find the 2 cars excellent, and both offer different driving styles.

Hi guys the megane coupe 16v is a great drivers car even better if you have the renault red and white springs (there are 14 different spring combinations for this model!). We have to remember this car was made to replace the williams clio in the renault range. I have owned a 19 16v and it is a great car but the megane is a step forward!

Sorry for late reply Neal. Have moved house and a little slow getting internet access. As I hesitated the car was snapped up by some polish geezers. they are buying salvage by the truck load.

Misses has a 20L 16V Pug 206

Lots of torque

Limiter at 6500

if you go mad with it the back end kicks out like a Clio.

Not as mutch fun as a 19 16V on 4 wheels.

Any way, when the misses gets in the 19 she allways says that I drive to fast.

Its the misses car, so do'nt go to mad with it, as I'll never hear the end of it if I broke it.
