Hi every one,I`ve just bought a laguna and done some work on it to get it running, but I have no owners handbook, and have a few questions regarding the car,if you could anwser them that would be great.
it a N 1996 1.8 rt
Can I turn off(Or remove) the immobiliser permently, but still use the key to open the central locking
If I remove the car battery for charging will it cause any problems with the car, such as starting ect.
If I need to change the key batterys, will it cause a problem.
also is the car a 1783 or 1794cc as the log book says 1783,but all the insurance pepole say that the rt 96 is a 1794cc.
also what is this model refered to as,MK1,MK11 ect.
Many thanks guys. |

Removing battery for charging shouldnt' cause any problems,
AFAIK the immobiliser can be stripped without affecting the remote central locking.
If you remove the plip key batteries you may need to re-sync it when you put new ones in (somone else will know for sure) |

could either be rolling code or plip immob.
easiest way to remove the immob is go to stand alone management, not worth while.
as long as you don't take half an hour to change the key batteries it won;t be an issue.
dissconnecting the car battery will be ok as long as you don't plip the key.
If its the early plip and not plip rolling code then neither thing is an issue. |
