I am normally of the same opinion Neal.

Although chrome looks to bling this looks duller, like, well, rough polished metal.

It will be good for heat reflection. But I am not a bling man tbh.

Silver paint I am not sure abotu but I can't think of a colour!

BTW the bit ont he left of the pic half way up has now been removed looks like this

Also the top of the manifold is all blended in, and most of the flat joining the runners has gone.

A lot of metal has been removed, should have weighed it before starting!

Unless you can get it to shine like a mofo, it'll just look cack.

I saw one on here that was painted black, which looked smart.
Likewise I've seen them colour coded with the rocker to match the car, again that looked nice.

What did you use to take off the excess metal?

black will do no favours for inlet temps though.

I used carbide cutters (same as for headwork) but to get the majority off I used the drill and hacksaw.

Will get more pics as it progresses

That decides it Chris, surely? If Schakal, a man not exactly renowned for his taste thinks polished looks good, then thats exactly what you shouldnt do Razz Twisted Evil

hmm, i dont think polished is the way to go?

is this just on the spare F7P engine? or from a car?

if not i think colour coded would be cool.

its project M's manifold but it will be stuck in a car probably the blue chammy at some point.

Removing the casting flash will make it look better and save weight where its needed.

Will polish it all up then see what we think then I will either leave it or paint it.

Smooth it off, and then paint it silver.

Why not take it back to nice smooth metal and then give it that brushed aluminium look (no idea how to do it!) then it's nice bare metal but not totally bling!
