only works in certain areas though, but yes its funky.

It fucked my pc up though so I removed it.

I impressed my nan by zooming as far out as possible and then clicking on the Bookmark for her house Cool

NASA has a program like this called World Wind, it also shows the world at night and some animations too.
There are a range of possible layers to view, one of which (the main one) can be tilted to show a 3D view of the landscape.

None the less the ability too see things in such detail from space is amazing.

The question all this raises is if this level of detail is available in the public domain what on earth does the millitary have?

similar program called Earth Browser (go: cnet download website). its like 4mb to download, then to update it, u download a file about 260k which in turn updates the image on your screen.

boss showed me the other day and you can see cloud formations, fault lines etc etc. Hurricane Rita shows up rather well Shocked
