Just got back from Tesco and noticed that my car overheated, This was mainly due to a lack of water in the system.Problem is I can't find the leak???

It seems to be coming from behind the engine, I'm thinking this because It is makeing bubbling sounds back there and water is dripping from the bottom of the engine.

Is there a water hose back there that I'm not seeing of could it be somethingmore sinister?

could be a core plug, had a few engines where I have seen some very dodgy silicone 'repairs' made to them.

I filled her up with water thismorning and drove into work. No overheating so it's safe to say as long as I keep her topped up she should be ok.

If thats the case is it just a new plug that is required or does it need a more intricate repair?

new plug unless the blocks cracked or something.

that head you gave me, someones had a go at porting it, not very well I may add, a classic flap wheel up the ports.

Its also a clio head.

And I'm gonna start on it today.

Will take pics

check it then stick a new core plug in, it doesn't take long for it to empy the system on the motorway.

mine leaked out the back for ages...was the gasket that had gone in both rear corners. exactly the same, had to keep topping it up with water all he time.

aye, no, dunno, if I move to europe I might just take it with me.

I'm very attached to it.

Plus the gearchange is gettign worse (you heard it at the lights!)

It was about 138, if there hadn;t have been the corner we would have gotten over 140 easily.

well see what happens on wednesday, I have the cash coming (refund on the tax etc) so I can afford the bits.

But I dunno, I really don't.

I could even just slap in the hatches engine for a while.
