well alan came over yesterday so we could attempt to improve his idle issues.
So basically out and off with the ICV, to do this the TB needs to be removed, this is the ICV as it came out, his is the later TB setup which is different from the earlier ones in the tech guide with the stepper motor.
TB itself
TB off, inlet manifold
ICV clean
the cleaned hole where the ICV lives, it was bogging
we had to fight the weather, just at the half way point it started raining so we ran into the porchy bit
obviously it wasn't heavy enough, so it changed to this!
there was even some hail thrown in as well.
Anyway the cleaned ICV has improved things, its perfect upto normal temp but this car goes beyond normal temp, sits right up at the 2nd line, but I feel this is juts a hotspot on the head, but the CTS is in the same spot so its thinking the engine hotter than it is and pulling back the fueling. This is making it idle roughly around 700rpm. |

yeah but it doesn't cut out so its not an issue!
go out under the bonnet, round the back of the cyl head see if you can feel is theres a bolts stuck in the back face of the head. if there is we should mopve the CTS to there and see if that helps. |
